Hi, I am Liam
Role: project manager. Parent. An expat based in Seattle, United States.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to United States wasn’t in the original plan. Like many expat journeys, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than anticipated.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning by doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt stable.
Why I Created Modern House Craft
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in United States.
